Welcome to WordToday’s policymakers have to keep Scotland more competitive even as global power shifts east, and at the same time make Scotland work for its poorest and most vulnerable.
The Scotland Institute is an independent think tank set up to support policymakers rise to these challenges with uniquely innovative analyses and policy proposals. We aim to explore new solutions to the old problems of social exclusion, deprivation and sustainability, and to encourage Scotland’s competitiveness in the global market. Through our work we hope to put Scotland on a path towards a brighter, more optimistic future.
We take inspiration from the philosophers of the Scottish Enlightenment for our faith that ideas are the guiding light which can change the face of society for the better.
